The demise of the old Journalist

I was watching the Devil loves Prada yesterday and was thinking, who would want to be the standard journalist these days. Politics seems to be all about spin and the number of investigative journalism peaces seem to be in a sharp decline. It seems a lot of the pieces are just reworded press releases from person/company X.

In my experience the best writings came from sports articles as it seemed more pure then the stuff we usually read in the papers/magazines.

I can see bloggers and youtube presenters have a significant affect on journalism going forward. As in the end what matters in the number of eyeballs you have reading your stuff if you want to have a career in journalism.
