Day 31 of the Fiji Coup

Peter Foster the biggest conman in the South Pacific and up for charges for falsifying evidence in Fiji is the origin of the armies main evidence against the previous regime.


Fiji Human Rights Commission director Shaista Shameem now states that the last two elections were illegal. I think this is the last nail in the coffin for the FHRC as being an unbiased institution. Its pretty bad when the Human Rights workers talk about reducing rights and not protecting current rights.

A large number of senior management have been removed or sidelined.

Fijian Institutions have been targeted and their is a real threat to current Fijian Culture.

Old regime will not be able to stand in the next elections.

My take is that life is pretty normal for the majority of people and Tourists are not affected. What is happening though is precedents for removing a lot of structure that are needed in Fiji. Global Village will not accept elections if not all Fijians are allowed to stand.
